Winnie The Pooh Live Action HAPPENING, Starring Grown-Up Christopher Robin!

This is certainly the age of the reboots, with beloved classics like Paul Reubens' character Pee-Wee Herman, "Coach," "Inspector Gadget" and even the beloved 90s sci-fi show "The X-Files" getting one - now, there's even a "Winnie the Pooh" live action film in the works!

The new "Winnie the Pooh" live action follows a long-running of beloved cartoon characters getting flesh counterparts, including the "Scooby Doo" movies, a few about "Garfield" and most recently Neil Patricks Harris' "Smurfs" movies, which were poorly received by critics - in any case, Disney's jumping into the reboot bandwagon by tapping on one of the most beloved children's characters of all time.

Following the success of last year's live-action re-adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast," "Malificent" and this year's live-action "Cinderella" (not to mention the Emma Watson and Dan Stevens upcoming "Beauty and the Beast"), the "Winnie the Pooh" live action seems like a logical step for Disney Pictures.

Fox News reports that the "Winnie the Pooh" live action film is set to be helmed by Alex Ross Perry, an independent filmmaker most famous for "Listen Up Philip," a 2014 dramedy that was first screened in last year's Sundance Film Festival to positive reviews - though none of them suggested that his work would be comparable to that of the classic honey-loving bear character.

Deadline was the one to break the news of the "Winnie the Pooh" live action adaptation, reporting exclusively that the new movie would be focused on Christopher Robin, Pooh's friend, who would be featured as a grown-up returning to the Hundred Acre Wood to meet up with friends Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and the entire gang.

It's still unclear whether the animal characters will be computer-generated or real animals - the latter seems unlikely, as it would make much more sense that the film followed some sort of "Life of Pi" animation scheme.

Besides the reported "Winnie the Pooh" live action film, Disney has already confirmed a new "Jungle Book" movie as well as a sequel to the 2010 "Alice in Wonderland" Tim Burton adaptation.
