Avengers 2 Cast New Actresses: Julie Delpy, Linda Cartellini Join ‘Age Of Ultron’ – Is One Of Them Captain Marvel?

With the release date less than a month away, everyone thought that the "Avengers 2" cast was announced in its entirety, but the guys behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe just showed the world two new surprises about the sequel to the insanely successful 2012 film "Avengers."

While it was already known that new additions to the "Avengers 2" cast were Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, James Spader as Ultron and Paul Bettany as Vision, the latest announcement by Marvel shows that there are two cast members that hadn't been counted on before: Linda Cartellini and Julie Delpy.

According to Screen Rant, news outlets just received word from Marvel on the entirety of the "Avengers 2" cast, as they got the entire premiere sheet, which included everyone that had been previously announced as well as these two actresses.

Screen Crush reveals that, following the announcement, fans around the world have wondered which roles they'd be playing, with many thinking one of them could be Carol Danvers, best known as Captain Marvel.

However, it has also been noted that, given the fact that both actresses are currently in their 40s, it seems unlikely that either of them has been cast in the role, so further speculation surges on their appearance on the "Avengers 2" cast sheet.

IGN reports that Disney has refused to comment on which characters the two actresses would be portraying, only confirming that they indeed going to be in the film, as it was thought at first that it may be an April Fools joke.

In any case, both actresses have been around for a while: Cardellini has been in projects as varied as "Scooby Doo" and "Mad Men," while Delpy is best known for her role as Céline in the Richard Linklater "Before" trilogy, co-starring Ethan Hawke.

It is unknown whether there'll be any more surprises regarding the "Avengers 2" cast.
