Betty White Awards: Legendary ‘Golden Girl’ Getting Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award!

The actress' career has gone on for more than seven decades, since her first screen credit way back in the 40s, and there have been many Betty White awards ever since, including a lot of memes in her later years - now, she'll be adding a Lifetime Achievement Award to her shelf!

The 93 year-old actress has been a part of some of the most iconic shows of all time, including "Mary Tyler Moore" and "The Golden Girls," and Betty White's awards have poured in throughout her career, but the television Academy has now decided that the iconic star deserves at least one more honor!

According to People Magazine, the announcement for the next of Betty White's awards came last Monday, when the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced they'd be honoring the comedy star's career on the next April 26, during the Daytime Emmys ceremony.

As shown by her IMDb page, Betty White's awards so far include an amazing six Emmys (namely, five Primetime awards and one Daytime one, with a total of 23 nominations altogether to both versions of the prestigious award, the most important one in television), as well as four Golden Globe nominations throughout her career (though no wins).

Yahoo! News reports that Betty White's awards started racking up in the 60s, as she became the first-ever woman to receive an Emmy as an outstanding game shot host for "Just Men." Similar credits include "The Match Game," "The $25,000 Pyramid" and being a frequent participant in "Password," where she met her husband Allen Ludden, who passed away in the early 80s after they were married for decades.

According to The Los Angeles Times, Dan Mauro, the President of the Television Academy, called White "an American institution" in light of the honor.

Before Betty White's awarded the prestigious lifetime achievement honor, other recipients have included Oprah Winfrey, Regis Philbin and Barbara Walters.
