Celine Dion's Las Vegas residency was the one that started the new trend of stars getting a permanent spot in the Nevada city, with others like Cher, Elton John, Britney Spears and even Mariah Carey - and, after a long hiatus, it seems the Canadian singer is about to return to her Caesar's Palace venue.
The Quebec-born singer has taken a hiatus from the long-running Celine Dion Las Vegas residency since last summer, as the health of her husband, René Algelil, took a turn for the worse after he had a cancerous tumor removed in the late days of 2013.
Now, according to Us Weekly, Celine Dion's Las Vegas return is a fact, as it seems her husband is doing much better and she still has contractual obligations with Caesar's Palace.
However, Celine Dion's Las Vegas return has been a letdown for some of the people working for the show, as, according to The Daily Mail, it was recently announced that four of Dion's band members would be let go from the production, as their contracts ended on March 15 and they were not to be renewed.
"It was a difficult decision to make that I felt was necessary to breathe fresh air into the show...Celine and Rene join me in thanking them for sharing their immense talent with us over the years and we wish them continued success in their future endeavors," said Aldo Giampaolo, the CEO of the company that manages the singer's affairs, including Celine Dion's Las Vegas return.
Perez Hilton reports that the singer will be returning to Sin City with a brand new show - although no official dates for her return have been confirmed as of yet. For the next few months, it'll be Mariah Carey taking her spot in the Caesar's Palace venue.
Fans of the "My Heart Will Go On" singer will be glad to know that the dates for Celine Dion's Las Vegas return will be available any day now!
