Theodor Seuss Geisel was an American children's book author that gave the world classics like "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," one of the most popular holiday stories in history - and now, it seems like there's a Dr. Seuss new book coming out, almost 25 years to the day the writer passed away!
Although the actor himself died in September 1991, Dr. Seuss new books keep popping out on occasion, as there's apparently a wide database of his old material stocked up in different places, which means there might be other discoveries ahead for those who woo the Whos!
According to USA Today, the announcement of Dr. Seuss' new book came earlier this week, more specifically last Wednesday, as publishing house Random House Children's Books announced the recent discovery of a long-lost work from the famous author entitled "What Pet Should I Get?"
Vox reports that the discovery of Dr. Seuss' new book happened thanks to his widow, Audrey Geisel, who also put out a statement in regards of the findings.
"While undeniably special, it is not surprising to me that we found this because Ted always worked on multiple projects and started new things all the time - he was constantly writing and drawing and coming up with ideas for new stories," Geiser said about Dr. Seuss' new book. "It is especially heartwarming for me as this year also marks twenty-five years since the publication of the last book of Ted's career, Oh, the Places You'll Go!"
The Week reports that the new book will reach shelves starting July 28 this year, for a fun summer read to all fans of the author and his classic rhymes. Apparently, between the findings, there was enough material (which included a lot of drawings) for two more books, and Random House is prepared to publish them sometime in the future.
It's always a great day when Dr. Seuss new books are announced!
