Jaycee Chan News: Jackie Chan’s Troubled Son Apologizes For Drug Offense

Jackie Chan is one of the most famous faces of Chinese cinema, and he's also a champion in the fight against drugs in the Asian nation; however, recent Jaycee Chan news has made the actor and martial artist retreat from the public eye, after his son was arrested for different drugs charges late last year.

Food World News has been following the different events of the Jaycee Chan news in the past few months, from his arrest to Jackie Chan's public statement about not having been a good father to Jaycee and, most recently, the young star's conviction for six months, after about 100 grams of marijuana were found at his home.

In the most recent Jaycee Chan news, the young actor most famous for being the son of Hong Kong actor Jackie Chan, has apologized for his drug-related scandal, according to the South China Morning Post. His apology happened only hours after he was released from jail after a six month sentence.

His father, Jackie, has made a name for himself over decades by starring in many American action films, including the "Rush Hour" and "Shanghai Knights" movies. The blow of Jaycee Chan's news was even harder for the 60 year-old actor after his son's arrest, due to the fact that in 2009 he was appointed an anti-drug ambassador in his country.

According to the Bangkok Post, Jaycee recently spoke to the press about his time in jail, saying it had been "harsh" and that his father hadn't intervened in the drug case - many reports have said in the past that the two stars have a strained relationship, which must have gotten worse due to the recent Jaycee Chan news.

"Sorry, I was wrong", said the young actor in a Beijing press conference on Saturday afternoon, according to The Straits Times. "As a public figure, this incident has had a negative impact on society, disappointed many people who supported me and caused everyone who have worked with me to suffer losses."

Father Jackie hasn't made any comments regarding the latest Jaycee Chan news.
