Though not from the same universe as the "Avengers" movies, the new "Fantastic Four" trailer is still great news for comic book fans around the world, showing the reboot of the former critically panned franchise from the mid-2000s that featured Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Julian McMahon.
Even though the cast seemed to promise at the time of its release, the first attempt to translate the four Marvel heroes failed to deliver; now, the new "Fantastic Four" trailer gives high hopes to those fans of the genre and the comic in particular, showing the talents of the new generation of actors set to play the superhero team!
As Vox reports, a good portion of the new "Fantastic Four" trailer is focused on space travel and specifically science, which is due to the time the comic was created by Marvel creative Stan Lee and Jack Kirby: commissioned to make a story to compete with the long-standing Justice League, they created the four superheroes, sending them out into space to be more enticing to readers, who at the time were enthralled with the Space Race with the Soviets.
As CNN reports, after the major flop of the first two movies (released in 2005 and 2007), a lot of fans looked at the possibility of a reboot of the franchise with disdain, but a lot of doubts seem to have disappeared after the release of the new "Fantastic Four" trailer - though not all.
While the original comics are light in tone (and so were the two previous adaptations), the new film seems to take on a grimmer perspective.
"Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy," the video's description on YouTube reads.
