News has come out of the weird times Will Ferrell's NBA game showed the world, after the actor was seen in public actually hitting a cheerleader in the face with a basketball, having to be escorted out by security - but was the whole thing for real or was it just an act?
Ever the funnyman, Will Ferrell's NBA game behavior may have not surprised everyone in the world, but it did reportedly catch the security team off their guards, as they later escorted the "Stranger than Fiction" movie star outside the game - but the whole thing was done for the sake of art and comedy.
According to The Daily Mail, the Will Ferrell NBA game incident happened in New Orleans last Wednesday night, as the actor was filming a scene for his upcoming film "Daddy's Home," co-starring Mark Wahlberg and "Mad Men" actress Linda Cardellini.
As an NBA blog reports, Will Ferrell's NBA game appearance was during a Los Angeles Lakers versus New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center, the indoor arena home of the Southern basketball team.
Apparently, the scene called for Ferrell's character to win the chance of making a half-court shot to win prizes, though he was supposed to be intoxicated, planted a basketball right into a cheerleader's face and later get apprehended and escorted outside by security - and, of course, the real-life audience of the match was there to see the whole thing, which is really not a bad thing at all to witness when you're already enjoying a fun game.
"When a divorced guy's ex-wife re-marries someone way more uptight, he re-enters her life and wreaks havoc," is the tagline of the upcoming film, as CBS News reports regarding the hilarious incident.
Ferrell plays the uptight new husband, and Wahlberg will be the crazed ex to Cardellini, Yahoo! News reports - and, after the fun Will Ferrell NBA game, surely a lot of people will flood to the theaters to see more!
