Marvel Secret Wars 2015: Marvel Universe Gets Reboot … Just Like DC Comics

Last Tuesday, the company created by Stan Lee that has some of the most iconic superhero movies in the making, said that fans could expect big announcements on Wednesday ... and, now, the whole thing has come out, and it'll be a major change for the comics' scene: Marvel Secret Wars 2015 will see a complete reboot of the Marvel Universe!

While more mainstream audiences may only be familiar with the Marvel Cinematic Universe that entails the "Avengers" movies as well as the new franchise "Guardians of the Galaxy," the most hardcore comic book fans are aware that there's also another parallel universe that has been going on since the sixties - and that's the one the Marvel Secret Wars 2015 will see getting rebooted.

According to io9, Marvel Secret Wars 2015 will mark the beginning of a new era for the world of Captain America's Avengers, as well as other characters like X-Men and the Guardians of the Galaxy; the two Marvel realities, the Marvel Universe and the Ultimate Universe, will clash and become something else altogether.

While the word "reboot" wasn't mentioned in the recent announcement regarding the Marvel Secret Wars of 2015, fans all over the Internet, including The Hollywood Reporter, have assumed that's what this whole new deal is about; and, considering the fact that the Marvel storyline has practically been a straight line since its inception in 1961, it might just be time to get things moving in the parallel universe of a superhero-infested New York City.

As Newsarama.com reports, the "All-New Marvel" world, so far known as "Battleworld," will be taking up some of the most important pieces of the existent stories and seeing how they will mix up together, as Marvel Editor-in-Chief Alex Alonso stated during the major announcement.

"The Marvel Universe will be Battleworld, and every single piece of those worlds will be building blocks for the universe," said Alonso.

The new Marvel Secret Wars of 2015 will hit stands over the next May, so comic book fans still have a few months left of waiting to see what happens in the next stage for Marvel characters.
