The widely acclaimed epic fantasy series "Game of Thrones" is going to be shown in IMAX. This is good news especially for millions of its cult following. According to the show's producers, they will release an exclusive trailer for the series' fifth season along with the last two episodes of the fourth season. It will be shown in 150 IMAX theaters across the United States starting Jan. 23 to Jan. 29.
The ninth episode of titled "The Watchers of the Wall" features the all-out battle between the wildling tribes and the Nights Watch. The wildlings are trying to seek refuge behind The Wall due to the emerging threat of the White Walkers.
The final episode of the fourth season was titled "The Children" and it left the fans with some cliffhanger moments. As with true "Game of Thrones" tradition, expect the unexpected, the series has instilled this principle down to its very bones. Bran Stark, after spending three seasons trying to find the three-eyed raven has finally found what he was looking for. There was the unforgettable duel between Sandor "The Hound" Clegane and Brienne of Tarth. Tyrion Lannister put three crossbow bolts deep into his father's body after discovering that the love of her life, Shae, was sleeping with him. The season finale ended with Arya Stark finally on her way to the free city of Braavos.
On a statement released to Entertainment Weekly, HBO Chief Marketing Officer Pamela Levine said "The cinematic brilliance and grand scope of the series is perfect for the IMAX format. We are always looking to provide fans with new and exciting ways to experience the show and viewing two key episodes, along with the new trailer, on such an impressive platform makes for a great event."
The fifth season of "Game of Thrones" is expected to air on April.
