Taye Diggs And Idina Menzel Divorce Is Final After A Year Of Disputes

One of the biggest couples in Broadway and film has officially called it quits after being separated for more than a year: actors Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel, who met in the very first production of "Rent," have finalized their divorce.

Following more than a year of separation where it was reported that Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel were working out details of their divorce - such as the custody terms of their five year-old son Walker Nathaniel Diggs and how to split their assets -, news has come out that the former power couple is now officially back in the market.

According to TMZ, Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel went through a secret divorce proceeding, after apparently giving the matter a whole lot of thought. The "Private Practice" actor and his "Frozen" wife announced their split back in the end of 2013, but there was no further action until November 2014, when Diggs was finally the one to officially file for divorce in New York, where the very Broadway-oriented couple lived.

According to The Irish Independent, Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel married in 2003 after a long relationship dating back to around 1995, when they met in the first Broadway production of now-classic 80s themed Jonathan Larson musical "Rent," based on the Puccini opera "La Boheme."

Sources told The Daily Mail that Diggs and Menzel have worked towards having a split that's as amicable as possible for the sake of their son, who they still plan to co-parent without any issues, even though they're no longer a couple.

Last year, Menzel was all over the news after voicing Queen Elsa in the critically and box office Disney favorite "Frozen," and particularly for having been the first person to sing the now Oscar-winning song "Let It Go," which has been widely covered ever since by all kinds of people.

In any case, we wish Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel a happy life, and that they both find love again soon!
