‘One Shot’: Newest Sniper-Friendly Mode For ‘Call of Duty’

Players of the celebrated first person shooter video game "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" were treated to an early New Year preset after the games developer, Sledgehammer Games, released a new multiplayer mode called the "One Shot". The new mode was well received by both players and critics alike.

The new mode, One Shot, pits players into a sudden death scenario with only sniper rifles as weapons available. The mode completely defies the games usual dynamics of high octane gunfight, instead putting players into hunt and be hunted situation. The mode was developed by Sledgehammer Games and in collaboration with professional gamer NaDeShot.

The new mode features five new classes. The Hard Scope, Zoomed, 4X, Ace, and Irons. Players are only allowed to use snipers and even secondary pistols are permanently locked. The new classes shares the same feature however, the MORS rifle a bolt action rail gun sniper along with additional add-ons like the Scorestreaks and EXO abilities. Player's starts with low health, initially setting up for a one shot kill. The new mode was released along with the double XP weekend so players can rack up additional experience points; unfortunately the double XP feature is only available with the new mode. Teams of five can use all the five new classes all at the same time, an option that opens up a lot of team game possibilities. Players finds the game a bit tedious and slow at first, however as playing time racks up it opens a different game-type possibilities. The usual run and gun pace of the game was transformed into a methodical game of finding strategic points in the map and picking up opponents using the highly reliable MORS snipers.

The mode was released Friday and is currently available for download. The double XP feature will be available starting Dec 29 and no further announcement was released regarding until when the feature will last.
