‘Destiny’: Current Records Shows It Has Almost 13 Million Players

Bungie, the developer of the highly acclaimed shooter "Destiny" claimed that their members are currently heading into the 13 million mark. To be exact, current statistics shows that "Destiny" has been play by 12,869,066 people from around the world.

Destiny's 12.87 million registered players together have created 22.93 million Guardians. If added on top of every player's record, together they have spent 872.4 million hours in the game. This massive amount of players and user have prompted Bungie to upgrade its internal staffing as well, current report shows that Bungie currently hire more than 500 staff to upgrade and maintain their servers and computer system.

Bungie, on a report from gamespot.com reports that the games newest raid level, "Crota's End", has been beaten by players almost 800 times already and is "rapidly counting".  The level was release along with the game's first expansion, "The Dark Below", released early Dec. The level was designed to be beaten by at least six players in a team; a recent report however shows that the level was beaten by just a single player all by himself, a historic feat that has never been replicated. Added in the update, Bungie said that the games increasing number of players will definitely grow with what they describe as "Christmas Noobs". These players are the one who will receive the game as a gift in the coming holiday season.

Bungie said on an official statement, "Go easy on 'em. They'll show up in the Crucible - lost, confused and freshly minted as Level Fives. They'll arrive on the forum where you're sort of a big deal, asking questions you discovered the answers to a long time ago. Take them under your wing. Show them the way. They'll learn a lot from you."

Bungie also have some surprise Christmas gift for current "Destiny" players. Bungie teased its players of finding "some small stocking stuffers", a feature or item that will be available sometime after the holidays.

Lastly, Bungie revealed that the next update for "Destiny" is slated to be released on Jan and will include "some stuff you've been asking for".
