For Jason Schwartzman, music is a big part of life, coming from a long line of the ultimate Hollywood royalty family, the Coppolas; now, he has teamed up with Amazon Studios and his cousin Roman Coppola to create the new series "Mozart in the Jungle."

The fact that is Jason Schwartzman's music ventures are also a part of his everyday life, so it's no surprise that this would soak up his work in television and movies as well. The actor who is known for his quirky roles also has a history of playing the drums of Phantom Planet, as well as a solo project called Coconut Records - not to mention the fact that he owns his own label, Young Baby Records.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Jason Schwartzman's music ventures hardly end there: the man will now be responsible for the latest Amazon show, "Mozart in the Jungle," in a project he created along with cousin Roman Coppola - the writer of "Moonrise Kingdom," a movie that also co-starred Schwartzman.

They both come from one of the most famous and powerful families in Hollywood: the Coppolas: it includes actress Talia Shire (who is Schwartzman's mom), famous for her role as Adrian in the "Rocky;" composer Carmine Coppola; iconic director Francis Ford Coppola (famous for classic movies like "The Godfather" trilogy and "Apocalypse Now"); writer-director Sofia Coppola and even actor Nicolas Cage.

In all, the Coppola family has more than two dozen Academy Award nominations, some of them for scoring - so it's no wonder that for Jason Schartzman music is so fundamental!

According to Slash Film, "Mozart in the Jungle" follows the story of a young music conductor named Rodrigo (supposedly based on Venezuelan Los Angeles Philharmonic conducting star, Gustavo Dudamel), who starts working at a major New York City symphonic orchestra - all while apparently having some conversations with, well, Mozart.

The cast includes Gael Garcia Bernal as Rodrigo, Bernardette Peters and Malcolm McDowell - not bad for Jason Schartzman's music résumé! You can watch the trailer below.
