Annual Christmas Tree Lighting: Mariah Carey No-Show Act Created A Fiasco on NBC

Singer, Mariah Carey apologizes to her fans and NBC production for being a no-show at this year's NBC's Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting.

According to the source, the diva kept the staff and crew waiting in the freezing rain for three hours while getting excuses from the singer. Carey no-show act on the Christmas tree lighting caused a major headache for NBC producers, staffs and crews. Carey's supposedly taped segment will be aired on Wednesday night for the 82nd annual tree lightning extravaganza.

Carey usually taped her segment of the network every year, even though the show will be aired live on Wednesday, but NBC producers learned their lesson and decided to pre- tape Carey's part every year because she always shows up late but this time she did not show up at all.

One source says that Carey spends her Thanksgiving with her almost ex-husband Nick Cannon and their twins, Monroe and Moroccan in Aspen, Colorado. One insider also named Carey as the most difficult guest they had in 30 Rock. After waiting for three hours, the NBC production finally released the audience and sent them home without any explanation.

The audience was disappointment while the NBC producers are still looking for a solution because the network has already announced Carey's participation in the Annual Christmas tree lighting.

However, shortly after the news broke about the Christmas tree lighting, Carey sent out her apologies via Twitter.

She tweeted her 15 million followers that last night's situation was beyond her control and she wants to apologize for not showing up for the pre-tape and she will be at the Annual Christmas tree lighting live show at Rockefeller center.

Carey's representative and NBC both promise the fans that they will have a chance to watch Carey and she will be performing her Christmas classic.

"Christmas In Rockefeller Center" will open 8 p.m. E.T. On NBC.
