Bobby Keys Dies at 70: The Famous Rolling Stones Saxophonist Leaves a Mark in Music and On His Friends

The legendary rock group, Rolling Stones was devastated when they heard that their saxophonist and long time friend, Bobby Keys dies at the age of 70.

Keys was a part of the rock group for over four decades and been contributing good quality music to the group. Aside from his talent, Keys also built a strong friendship among the group. According to E! News, the band, Rolling Stones released their statement about the sad event and according to them; they are very devastated about their loss. They did not only loss a great saxophone player but a good friend as well. Keys is with the group since 1960s and since then he made a good and unique contribution to the band. Keys will be missed.

The band's guitarist, Keith Richards also posted an image of his handwritten message to Keys on his Facebook Page. According to his message, he just lost his largest pal in world and he cannot express the sense of sadness that feel. However, he knows that Keys would probably tell him to cheer up. He expressed his condolence to all the people who knew him and also those who loves his music. And he ended his message saying farewell to his dear friend and he added a black and white photo of a smiling Keys.

Nashville rock veteran, Michael Webb also expressed his sadness about Keys death. According to him, Keys was a good friend and very good inspiration. He and Keys performed in a band of Southern rock all-stars. Webb also shared that the saxophonist had a liver ailment and been in and out of the hospital for two months.

Keys was born and raised in the states of Texas. Aside from Rolling Stones and Webb, Keys had also work with The Who, Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, George Harrison and John Lennon.
