Katy Perry Update: Singer Will Perform for 2015 Super Bowl's Halftime Show

Katy Perry has been rumored to be performing for the halftime show of the Super Bowl this coming 2015 and it has been confirmed by NBC that the gossip in the rumor mill is indeed true.

According to Billboard, Perry has been chosen by National Football League (NFL) to be the star for the famous halftime show and she has been in the running for the position as early as August this year. Other stars in the mix that were chosen from for the said performance are Rihanna and the Coldplay band.

It's clear that Rihanna is no longer in the choices as she recently told CBS the "F" word after her song "Run This Town", a collaboration with Jay Z, has been axed from the Thursday Night Football as the Ray Rice scandal was at its speak during that moment.

Back to Perry... her halftime show gig is said to be a little more interesting as the NFL asked the representatives of the candidates for the performance if they are willing to contribute a portion og the post- Super Bowl tour in come to the said league or if they will be making other types of financial contribution in exchange for the said gig.

This might have gotten Perry the part as back in ESPN's College Game Day, Perry was one of the hosts and she pressed that she is not the kind of girl who would pay in order to play for the Super Bowl. The officials at the NFL might have vetoed the idea of Perry but it still is not sure if Perry and her team are to give donations to the league.

Anyway, the announcement was officially confirmed by Bob Costas who announced the performance during the halftime of the Cowboys-Giants game on Sunday Night Football. Perry then took it to Twitter to echo the announcement as she wrote: "Yeppers! And I've already started testing out ideas! https://bit.ly/KPSB49  #halftime."
