ISIS Al Qaeda split may be entering its final stages. The ISIS group which has spent most part of its year bombing Al Qaeda soldiers, remains in very murky waters as regards their relationship with other terror groups. However, their split may be ending following the warming up of certain Al Qaeda affiliates to ISIS, swelling the jihadist number to jaw dropping and worrying numbers.

ISIS al Qaeda split began in 2012. The initial bad blood between the two forces resulted from the jihadist group Al Qaeda's castigation of ISIS as terror group that did not stand for Islam. Al Zahawiri, leader of Al Qaeda, distinctively distanced himself from ISIS and urged all other brothers of Islam to do the same.

This year, on May 26, Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi, a well known and high ranking Al Qaeda official published a statement regarding ISIS as an enemy of Islam. The statement which noted down all of ISIS sins such as the murder of fellow Islam brothers, disobedience to their commanders (al Qaeda and al Zahawiri), refusal of reconciliation and arbitration as modes of solving disputes as per the Quran and even heretical extremism.

The ISIS al Qaeda split was even more prominent when Abubakar al Baghdadi, leader of ISIS, in an audio released recently proving the leader is still alive, spoke very fondly of the Syrian Islamists taking up arms for ISIS. In his recording, al Baghdadi spoke fondly of all Islam jihadist groups in places such as Libya who had sworn their loyalty to ISIS. This has led to terror groups taking refuge in either one of the terror groups.

Al Nusra, formerly a terror group in Syria linked to al Qaeda, recently switched sides and declared support for ISIS, especially after the U.S airstrikes in Syria this week killed several of the group's top command.

The ISIS al Qaeda split is nearing an end, with more and more groups cozying up to al Baghdadi and his extreme methods. This could prove disastrous for the free world.
