News of the new Nicki Minaj boyfriend's religion has hit the web in the most appropriate of times: just as she's receiving backlash over Nazi-themed clip for her song "Only," with the press going nuts over the fascist undertones of the video.
Earlier this week, the famous rapper became the target of a lot of Internet and press hate after she released a clip for her new single, "Only." According to many news outlets, the video was offensive and irresponsible, since the entire concept was based on Nazi imagery and as such it made a lot of people uncomfortable - but not Nicki Minaj's boyfriend, it seems!
According to MTV, the famous "Anaconda" rapper took the time this week to make a formal apology to anyone she had offended by releasing the video, but she also took it to herself to say that she wasn't anti-Semitic at all, and that in fact one of the people who had overseen the project was of Jewish ancestry - now, it seems this person was Nicki Minaj's boyfriend.
Last Tuesday morning, the singer arrived at Los Angeles airport (LAX) after a visit to the United Kingdom for the MTV Europe Music Awards, and, of course, she was bombarded by paparazzi asking her about the Nazi imagery of her latest video. She denied being anti-Semitic, and pointed at the guy she was with - introducing him as Nicki Minaj's boyfriend, according to Celeb Buzz.
"No! This is my new Jewish boyfriend!" Minaj told the paparazzi, then pointing out that he had been a part of the behind the scenes process of the video clip.
A report by TMZ says that Nicki Minaj's boyfriend, Alex (other news outlets have completed his name as Alex Loucas, also known as videographer Grizz Lee) was responsible for overseeing the production behind the entire clip, having stood by the "American Idol" judge when it was time to make decisions regarding the art behind the video, which was inspired by Adult Swim's "Metalocalypse" the "Sin City" film.
