Rebekah Gibbs' cancer ended the actress' life Wednesday with her family by her side at 41.

The actress from BBC's medical drama, "Casualty" passed away early Wednesday due to cancer, BBC reports.

Gibbs played the role of Nina Farr, a paramedic in more than 100 episodes of the medical drama from 2004-2006. She decided to leave the drama series to focus on family life.

Weeks before giving birth, the actress felt a lump in a lump in her breast. In 2008, after the birth of her daughter Rebekah Gibbs' cancer was diagnosed. When it was first diagnosed, the doctors reassured that it would be benign.

After giving birth to her daughter Gigi, Gibbs was told by the doctors that the cancer have been more aggressive.

Rebekah Gibbs was cancer free for two years in 2010 when she told the BBC, "You don't get a band waiting for you at the hospital doors, but it is a wow I have done in my two years."

During her fight with breast cancer, she wrote about her experience dealing with the disease in a weekly column for the Daily Mirror.

"I close my eyes, and I am right back there, in front of the TV, feeling petrified as I desperately run my finger above my baby bump and under my breast, willing the lump to disappear," Gibbs shared.

In 2013, after five years of Rebekah Gibbs' being cancer free, the actress had a serious seizure in August while celebrating holiday with her family in Devon. She was diagnosed with two brain tumors, one in her neck a one lesion on her lungs.

Ashley Pitman, Gibbs' husband told that the actress died with her family by her side in Wednesday at the Hospice in the Weald in Kent.

"I'd like to thank them and her dear, loving friends, from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support we received over the last year. Without which Rebekah and I would not have been able to cope. I'd also like to thank everyone for their kind wishes and messages at this difficult time. My daughter and I take a great deal of comfort from this as we come to terms with life without our Rebekah," said Pitman in a statement.

Rebekah Gibbs' cancer have taken a "true inspiration and dazzling light" but will "never be forgotten", tweeted her agent Belfield and Ward.
