Pizza Hut new menu will be first rolled out in the U.S. The new formulation in the menu was thought to augment the derailing financial status of Pizza Hut. In Its 2013 financial report, Pizza Hut declining sales from 19 percent in 2008 fell to 16.7 percent in 2013.
"We're embarking on the biggest change that we've ever made as a brand," said Carrie Walsh, Pizza Hut's Chief Marketing Officer.
Pizaa Hut new menu is seen as the hope and answer to the slumping sales of the nation's largest pizza chain that has been decreasing for two years. Competitors such as Domino's, Little Caesars and Papa John's were seen taking a slice of Pizza Hut's business.
New competitions were also seen as build-your-own pizza chains including Blaze and Pieology are penetrating the pizza market. Another threat seen is the new Chipotle brand that has been attracting diners of Pizza Hut.
The makeover would help the chain "better connect with millennials" and "reinforce Pizza Hut's leadership, quality, innovation and superior value," says David Novak, CEO of Yum! Brands, which owns Pizza Hut, KFC and Taco Bell.
Pizza Hut new menu ads is entitled "The Flavor of Now," as the new products are expected to roll out in over 6, 300 U.S. stores.
