Reviews for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" Released

The latest installment of "The Hunger Games" franchise has not been out yet in the United States as it is scheduled on November 21 but the world premiere has taken place in London on Monday evening and the reviews have followed right after.

The first comment is the decision of Lionsgate to cut the third installment into two parts as critics pressed it was like the first part was a long trailer that lets the viewers want to watch the other half right there and then.

Another comment is Katniss Everdeen's role played by Jennifer Lawrence as Total Film's Kevin Harley pressed that Katniss arms up against anyone and she nailed the job of selling the long, twisting road towards a revolution.

According to Variety's Justin Chang, the movie was "unsubtly resonant, at times quite rousing and somewhat unsatisfying by design" but noted that the latest installment in the series is a tale about mass uprising and media manipulation.

Forbes' Scott Mendelson said that the choice to split the finale into two was good and the acting was solid as there were a lot of interesting moments and beats. However, he pressed that the downside was, "The film sadly feels like the first part of a two-part television series finale, with all of the proverbial 'good stuff' held in reserve for the theoretical final showdown."

The Daily Mail's Robbie Collin pressed that the third installment was all queue and no roller coaster. Collin noted that although it is admirable, intense, stylish, topical, and well-acted, it will not be dubbed as satisfying.

The stars in the movie include Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket, Julianne Moore as President Alma Coin, Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch Heavensbee, Jeffrey Wright as Beetee, Sam Claflin as Finnick Odair, Natalie Dormer as Cressida, and Donald Sutherland as President Snow.
