ABC Cancels Selfie: Sudden Cancellation After 4 Episodes Causes Twitter Uproar

Abc cancels Selfie. ABC, which has recently been sending television shows to the chopping board has recently pulled the plug on the sitcom Selfie that airs every Tuesday on the network.

Selfie has been pulled off the abc viewers list. The cancellation follows the cancellation of 'Manhattan Love Story' only recently. It is immediately unclear why the network decided to pull off the show but reports have indicated that the show's bad ratings among the youth, averaging 1.5, and terrible ratings that constituted 4.5 million viewers, were the chief reason for its cancellation.

The sitcom, which features John Cho as a savvy marketing executive who seeks to change the life of narcissistic social media crazy young woman played by Karen Gillian, only aired for five episodes, with its sixth episode expected to air on Tuesday. ABC cancels Selfie when their initial contract was for 13 episodes.

Fans of the thirty minute sitcom have come out strongly to advocate for the return of the sitcom. The fans took to Twitter through the hash tag #BringBackSelfie to champion for the continuance of the sitcom. The fans were not at all pleased with the ABC cancels Selfie headlines and have sought to prevail upon the network to continue the show.

The sudden cancellation was said to have taken viewers by surprise with many saying that the show was finally gaining its grounding and its audience. New Republic's Esther Breger on Tuesday said, "'Selfie' has quietly turned into one of the funniest, most delightful sitcoms on TV," soon after ABC announced the show's cancellation.

In September, John Cho sat down with TIME in an interview about the show where he said that he was first alarmed that the show would not receive huge ratings because of its peculiar name. "I was scared that people would never watch the show because "selfie" of course sounds terrible," Cho said. It is sad that ABC cancels Selfie just when the show was achieving its footing.
