The place known as the Duchess of Cambridge's pub is about to be torn down, but residents of the area want to maintain it for the sake of history!
According to a new report by UK's The Daily Mail, it seems that one of the favorite hangout places of the royal formerly known as Kate Middleton is in danger of disappearing. This Duchess of Cambridge pub is a common place for the wife of Prince William - and she's even taken her future king husband to it on several occasions!
Back in 2011, John Haley, the landlord of the Duchess of Cambridge pub, talked about how they were all used to seeing Kate Middleton hanging out there, and everyone became nervous the first time she took William.
However, it seems that after a while the locals got used to seeing the royal couple there, as they've often dropped by for a nice quiet meal, as they're accompanied by the security people that work to protect the family of the second in line to the throne of England.
However, Mr. Haley has now made his intentions known: he wants to tear down the Duchess of Cambridge's pub to build a house there instead, an idea that has turned locals against him and created a bid to save the place, which is a "300-year-old Grade II listed building," according to local newspaper Newbury Today.
The Duchess of Cambridge pub, called The Old Boot Inn and located at Stanford Dingley (not far from the residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, in Bucklebury, Berkshire) has seen several generations of visitors of the Middleton family, even including its most recent addition, Prince William.
The royal couple is so attached to the place that they even invited landlord John Haley to their wedding in 2011!
Local supporters of the venue have called in William and Kate to support the pub, but there still hasn't been any information on them.
