Melissa Rivers’ Lawsuit: Joan Rivers’ Daughter Hires Lawyers To Look Further Into Her Mother’s Death

It seems that Melissa Rivers' lawsuit is a go, after it has been confirmed that the daughter of screen legend Rivers has hired a new set of lawyers to look into her mother's death, which was apparently due to medical negligence. The possibility of Melissa Rivers' lawsuit comes after the reality television star hired legal team from the Gair, Gair, Conason, Steigman, Mackauf, Bloom & Rubinowitz firm.

According to a new report by celebrity website TMZ, Melissa Rivers' lawsuit is definitely on the way right now, after the daughter of beloved comedienne and fashion critic Joan Rivers has decided to take action against the doctors who treated her mother in a process that ended up in her death.

"In order to fully determine all of the facts and circumstances surrounding the death of Joan Rivers we confirm that our firm has been engaged by Melissa Rivers and her family," the Gair, Gair, Conason, Steigman, Mackauf, Bloom & Rubinowitz law firm told the UK's Daily Mail.

Melissa Rivers' lawsuit is supposed to come at some point in the near future, according to different sources. The law firm she decided on is one of the oldest in New York City, and it seems they're very selective about the cases they take, which means they must have found something of value in Melissa's complaints.

Melissa Rivers' lawsuit would follow a reportedly botched procedure her mother went through. Joan entered the Yorkville Endoscopy clinic on Manhattan's Upper East Side for a standard procedure on her throat, but some sort of complication came up and she ultimately passed away a week later.

It was later revealed that Rivers' cause of death was the result of low blood oxygen to the brain during the procedure, an endoscopy the comedienne had gone through to find out why her voice was so raspy at the time.
