Officer returns $120000- An off-duty California Highway Patrol sergeant found two bank deposit bags containing over $120,000 in cash in the middle of a Concord Boulevard near Princeton Court. She was praised hero after returning the pot of money to the owner.
The CHP officer, a 20-year CHP veteran who wishes to be unidentified said that she was on her way home when she saw the two huge deposit bags in the middle of the road on Sept.17. She was driving her personal car when she almost hit the bags. Curious, she went down to inspect the bags.
"It was two bags that said Bank of America and I thought, I wonder if it was from some type of bank robbery or something? I opened it enough just to see there were stacks of $100 bills," claims the officer who returns the $120000.
It was then when the officer who returns $120000 found the huge amount of money inside the two bags. CHP officials said that the off-duty sergeant wasted no time to call the authorities to return the money amounting to more than $120000.
According to ABC News, the officer returns $120000 even though she claimed that she was facing financial problems. She also said that it's her duty to set a good example eventhough she is not wearing her badge. Later on, it was found that it was actually the life savings of the owner.
The owner can't contain his emotions upon receiving his huge money. He was very grateful for the sergeant officer who returns his $120000. The officer received a lot of praises and hailed as hero for what she has done.
The CHP officer who returns the $120000 says she has believe that even her fellow men could do what she just did. She said, at the back of her mind, she always wanted to do the right thing.
