Hannah Graham Remains Found in Shallow Grave Country Woods, 10 Miles From Downtown Charlottesville [VIDEO + REPORT]

Hannah Graham remains found- Human remains found in Charlottesville, Albemarle County has been already identified belonging to the missing University of Virginia student, Hannah Graham, authorities revealed Friday.

Albemarle County police officials found Graham's remains located nearly 10 miles from Graham's campus Oct. 18. Graham, 18, disappeared from Charlottesville Downtown Mall area on Sept. 13 after she went out with her friends.

John and Sue, Graham's parents have identified Hannah Graham remains found by the Albemarle County Police Department and confirmed by the Virginia Medical Examiner's Office. In a statement, the sophomore's parents expressed their deep devastation about the loss of their beautiful daughter.

"When we started this journey together, we all hoped for a happier ending," they said. "Sadly that was not to be." Graham's parents were also grateful for the determination of Charlottesville Police Chief Timothy Longo, who had not given up until they found the girl's remains.

As Hannah Graham remains found, the officials declared the closure of the case and now they are focusing on the charges that could be pressed over the main suspect, Jesse Matthew, 32, a hospital worker.

Graham was last spotted in the camera footage leaving Tempo Bar around 2 a.m. on Sept. 13 while a man who was later identified as Jesse Mathew Jr., 32, following her. Matthew was captured on Sept. 24 in Galveston, Texas and was acknowledged as the only person associated with Graham's disappearance.

Matthew was taken into custody in Graham's kidnapping. He was also accused for sexual assault, abduction and attempted murder of a woman in Fairfax in 2005.

Hannah Graham remains found approximately six miles from the body of Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington, whose body was found in Jan. 2010 after her disappearance. Matthew was also linked to the death of Harrington.
