California Woman Got Stuck In Chimney, Stalking An Online Date

A 30 year old woman from Thousand Oaks, California was stuck in the chimney when she attempted to sneak in the house of a man she dated online.

The woman identified as Genoveva Nunez-Figueroa had to be rescued by firefighters after she got herself stuck inside the chimney forcing them to use dish soap to get her freed, Reuters reported.

Nunez-Figueroa tried to secretly enter the house of the man whom she met recently online through the chimney. She started screaming for help when she finally realized that she got stuck in it. Her intent in breaking in the house was not yet established.

A team of ten firefighters from Ventura County Fire Department, California came and had to break the chimney "brick by brick" using a jackhammer and a liquid soap to help them extricate Nunez-Figueroa. The firefighters who rescued in the incident found her about 7 feet below the chimney, explained the fire department's spokesman Bill Nash.

The team of rescuers spent almost two hours to pull Nunez-Figueroa out of the chimney. She was taken to a hospital after the rescue.

The man, who wished to be known only as Lawrence, living in the house in Thousand Oaks confirmed that she met Nunez-Figueroa online and that he recently ended the fling.

It was not the only time she tried to enter his house. According to ABC7's report, Lawrence spotted the woman trying to get inside his home two weeks ago. He reported it to the police but Nunez-Figueroa suddenly disappeared.

After her evaluation at the hospital for any injuries, Nunez-Figueroa was then arrested for illegal entry and for giving false information to the authorities when she misrepresented her identity to a police officer.
