A woman in Southern California was rescued and arrested after she got stuck trying to get into a man she had met online's residence through the chimney.
Firefighters in Suthern California got the shock of their week after they were called to rescue a middle aged woman who got stuck in a chimney. The woman identified as Genoveva Nunez-Figueroa , was rescued by a team of firefighters who arrived at the scene and had to improvise safe methods of getting her out without causing harm to her.
Official reports from the Ventura county police reports indicate that the woman had been stuck inside the chimney for several hours before the firefighters fnally arrived.
Figueroa, 30, attempted to go down the residence of the unnamed man's chimney on Sunday. She managed to go down two meters (7 feet) before finally getting stuck. She began screaming for help at that moment.
Firefighters who arrived at the scene had to take down the chimney brick by brick. Officials say they had to take it down piece by piece so as not to risk bricks falling down on the woman. They then lined the inside of the chimney with dish soap before pulling the woman out with straps. The woman was later rushed to hospital for obsevation and afterwards arrestred for illegal unauthorised entry and concealing her identity.
Figuero said that she knew the owner of the residence. However, the owner was not present at the time of her alleged unauthorised entry and when he did come, only consented to knowing the woman through online forums. The man continued to state that it was not the first time the woman had attempted to break into his residence. He said that he had no idea why the woman was trying to get into his residence.
