Sweden Mystery Sub: Controversy That Causes Tension And Movement

Sweden Mystery Sub - A submarine has appeared in the waters near Stockholm and has raised awareness as to whose it is, and there are suspicions that the vessel was Russian.

Sweden has never been more alert. This day and for a couple of days now, the Swedish navy has been searching the waters to find any foreign vessels going through.

The Swedish military has released a picture of a an object lurking outside of the water, which looks like it might be a submarine, but there are no sure facts yet. A source told the BBC that the vessel was seen 16 miles from Stockholm.

The first suspicions were that the vessel was a Russian one, but apparently they immediately said that the suspicions were wrong and that the vessel must have belonged to the Dutch.

"To remove tensions in the waters of the Baltic Sea and to save money of the Swedish taxpayers we would recommend them to turn the naval command of the Netherlands for an explanation," Fox News reported.

However, a ministry spokeswoman from The Hague denied this fact by stating that they had indeed been in activities with Sweden involving ships, but that lasted until last Thursday and the ships belonging to the Dutch were already not in Swedish waters.

This brings back the options to Russia once again and it seems that after the situation that the country has had with Ukraine, Sweden is alert and worried.

They were asked about a reason for Russia or any other country to get a vessel in their water.

"It's always about testing the Swedish response to see if they are awake and able to detect it," an Official answered.

There is no doubt that they are awake and alert about the situation and trying to detect if this is a mystery sub or some other vessel, and what exactly this would represent for Sweden.
