All aboard the gravy train, my fellow KFC lovers! It's about to get good with the most finger-lickin' news I've ever heard. Our fav fried chicken chain has gone viral for something truly incredible - a KFC Gravy Train!
Imagine an adventure where you book a trip to travel by rail - but instead of the usual sights, you're invited to come aboard by the glorious image of Colonel Sanders himself. Inside, the conductor is rocking an all-white suit, ready to welcome you to a world of fried chicken dreams.
Obviously, this isn't your average train ride - nor was it a random act of fried-chicken philanthropy. This particular spectacle was a KFC-branded train that served as a very special shuttle service in Auckland, New Zealand, to take fans to a Blues vs Force rugby game. Fans were even greeted by former Blues fan favorite Carlos Spencer, who served as the Train Conclucktor. The promotion was created to celebrate KFC's partnership with Super Rugby and its "Super Delivery" campaign.
I mean, what better way to fuel up for a game than with endless amounts of fried chicken? Servers traversed the train cars with trays of popcorn chicken and chips (that's fries for us kids in the U.S.). There was even a buffet overflowing with KFC goodness that awaited attendees at their destination. Buckets of the Colonel's extra crispy and special recipe chicken, perfectly smooth mashed potatoes, and gallons of the most addictive gravy on the planet? Where do I sign up?
This whole train situation went viral when @foodiestablenz posted about her adventure on the KFC Gravy Train on Instagram, leaving KFC fans worldwide green with envy. The colonel even appeared as a KFC mascot on the field during halftime.
Sadly, KFC's Gravy Train was a one-time promotion with Super Rugby. But hey, that doesn't mean it won't be back! KFC is known for its creative promotions, and with all the buzz the Gravy Train generated, perhaps we'll see it again in the future. Maybe the Colonel will hear the cries of fans around the world and bring the KFC Gravy Train to a city near you! For now, there's always KFC delivery, right?
