The internet seems to think that Meghan Markle is cooking up some kind of culinary caper. A host of internet detectives with far too much time on their hands have uncovered a trademark application for Markle's apparent new brand - American Riviera Orchard - recently launched on Instagram and online. While the IG account and webpage are merely placeholders to tease the coming brand, the trademark application hints at the potential for cookbooks in digital and print. Forget the crown jewels; it seems the Duchess of Sussex is setting her sights on becoming a kitchen queen!
This isn't Markle's first foray into foodie territory. She's already a recipe contributor to Jose Andres' The World Central Kitchen Cookbook: Feeding Humanity, Feeding Hope, and she spearheaded the production of (and wrote the foreword for) Together: Our Community Cookbook. The latter is a compilation of recipes from women who began cooking together at the Al Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre after they were displaced by the 2017 Grenfell Tower fire in London. Now, whispers on the wind (courtesy of the Daily Mail) suggest a Netflix cooking show might be simmering away too.
So, what can we expect from American Riviera Orchard? We're guessing a sunny, Southern California-inspired bevy of lifestyle and culinary delights! In addition to a potential TV show and cookbook, a blog is also rumored to be in the pipeline, making American Riviera Orchard a one-stop shop for all things magnificently Markle.
