Thirsty for something novel? This week's beverage buzz is about fruity flavors, creamy coffee toppers, and even a taste of the apocalypse, all in our first edition of THIRST TRAP!
Do you remember that scene in The Waterboy when Adam Sandler debates that H20 is better than Gatorade? 26 years later, Gatorade finally listened. Gatorade released its first unflavored beverage for all you Sporty Spices out there, and they're calling it Gatorade Water...because it's water...made by Gatorade. Boring brand name aside, the product's alkaline with a pH of 7.5 or more and electrolyte infused to replace those cramp-relieving nutrients we lose when we get our sweat on. It's a great hydration option without the sugar or artificial coloring that comes with sports drinks. It was out of stock on the Gatorade ecomm site, but we found it for sale on Instacart at Wegmans. Grab a bottle and get your quench on!
Oatly is shaking up your coffee routine! They're launching oat milk creamers in flavors like Sweet & Creamy, Vanilla, Caramel, and Mocha. These 100% vegan options are perfect for anyone who wants that luscious, half-and-half vibe in their latte without all the dairy. The brand's hitting shelves nationwide for around $5.99. You'll find Oatly's creamers in the refrigerated section of your favorite grocers.

Fast food chain Zaxby's retrolicious handmade milkshakes are back, but only for a short time, and only in Macon, GA. Zaxby's partnered with the city of Macon to start the "Milkshake Tourism" initiative to try and crown Macon the milkshake capital of America. The program invites you to head down under the Mason-Dixon line and slurp up their divine down-home classic shake flavors (Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, and Birthday Cake) while exploring Macon's rich culture. If a trip to Georgia is in your stars, you can find more information about this sweet Southern celebration at Visitmacon.org and on Zaxby's site.
Here's one for the yoga mat set. Rowdy Mermaid has launched Lunar Berry Kombucha, right in time for the next eclipse. It's a mellow mix of blueberry, lavender, and vanilla flavors that make for one right mighty fine booch. This blend of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and botanicals was brought together so you can experience serenity in kombucha form. The beverage claims to help promote relaxation, reduce anxiety, combat inflammation, and improve focus, and who couldn't use a lot of all that? You can find retailers near you on the Rowdy Mermaid site, so give it a shot. We're not sure you'll achieve spiritual bliss but you'll have a fun flavor ride while you're finding out.
Remember when all your friends used to wear candy ring-pops as accessories when they went to EDM festivals? Well, they're back but in beverage form. The limited-edition sodas are available online, at select retailers, and even on tap at fairs. So grab a can, reminisce about the good ol' days, and create new moments with every sip!
