It's time to check your freezer, my friends! IMF Meats, a New York-based company, is recalling nearly 47 tons of raw beef products due to possible contamination with non-food grade mineral seal oil. This stuff isn't harmful in small quantities, but, of course, it's not approved for use in food processing. It could also make your meat taste like chemicals. The good news is that no ilnesses have been reported.
Products Recalled: Various cuts and ground beef produced between November 26, 2023, and February 16, 2024.
Identifying Features: Look for Julian dates between 330-365 (November 26 - December 31) and 1-47 (January 1 - February 16) and establishment number "EST. 569" inside the USDA mark of inspection.
Affected Locations: New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
Restaurants: Do not serve these products. Discard or return them to the supplier.
Consumers: If you have these products in your freezer, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the store where you purchased them.
