Heads up, hummus lovers! The FDA has announced that several Al Amir Fresh Foods dips are being pulled from shelves across Oregon and Washington due to the risk of serious allergic reactions. The company didn't fully disclose ingredients like sesame and milk on all labels, putting anyone with sensitivities at risk. The good news is that no illnesses have been reported so far and Al Amir Fresh Foods is working to correct the labeling issue.
There are four products that are being recalled by Al Amir Fresh Foods. They are packaged in 8oz. pots and all have "best by" dates up to and including January 25th. Check your fridge for:
Classic Hummus Creamy Garbanzo
Harissa Spicy Hummus With a Kick
Baba Ghannooj Grilled Eggplant
Tzatziki Cucumber Yogurt
The recall only affects people with a sesame or milk allergy. If you or someone in your household have these allergies, throw the products away immediately or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. And don't forget to spread the word: Share this article with friends and family who might have bought these dips, especially if they have allergies.
