$680k Home Built on Wrong Lot: A 5,000-square-foot Dream Vacation Home Turns into Nightmare

A $680k dream house in Florida was set on a wrong lot. A Missouri couple has been completely dismayed after learning that their three-story house built with five bedrooms, a game room, a home theater and a screened-in-pool was built in a wrong place.

After the custom made house has been made, the owners- Mark and Brenda Voss discovered that the house they were expecting along Atlantic Ocean near Palm Coast was on a wrong lot in Ocean Hammock community.

"We are in total disbelief, just amazed this could happen," Mark Voss stated. "We may have moved to Ocean Hammock someday. But, with this headache and grief, we're not so sure. The Midwest is looking pretty good right now."

Mark and Brenda Voss own 18 other residential lots in the community, and in 2012 the couple hired the services of Keystone Homes to build their dream vacation house with ocean view. As it is erected on the Coast of Atlantic Ocean near Palm Coast, the couple has never been excited to see their 5,000 -square-foot vacation rental.

In 2012, the couple paid $160,000 for the lot situated on 23 Ocean Ridge. Blvd.

However, after six months of completing their 5,000-square-foot vacation home, they found out that the home was built on the lot at 21 Ocean Ridge Blvd. belonging to Andrew Massaro and his wife, Brooke Triplett of North Carolina.

Apparently, the house was on-rent for tourists around the area and mistake was only revealed after some vacationers already rented the place.

Mark Voss, owner of a property management and real estate company hired their own lawyer for the case. Vice President of the Keystone Robbie Richmond claimed, the construction company admits their fault and is finding the least complicated legal way out.

Keystone Homes is now facing settlements between the two lot owners.
