Neil Patrick Harris Husband - The actor is married to David Burtka and they tied the knot in Sept. this year. He tells the whole story of his life and their life in his new autobiography that was released yesterday.
The Autobiography, in a very Neil Patrick Harris fashion, is actually a quite funny and original idea. Instead of going for the classic autobiography style, he goes for a "Choose Your Own Adventure" design where he tells the whole story in second person.
The name of the Autobiography is "Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography." In it, he focuses on his sexuality and tells how he progressively struggled to come to terms with it and understand it.
A big part of it and perhaps the sweetest part, is when he talks about his now husband, David Burtka, who is also an actor and a chef. Together, they have twins who have turned 4 years old on Sunday.
"Yesterday I celebrated the birth of my twins. Tomorrow I celebrate the birth of my book. I hope the book poops less," he posted on his twitter.
In the autobiography, Neil Patrick Harris tells that he met his husband originally in 2013 when he was starring in Cabaret and while walking through the New York City streets, he crossed paths with Kate Reinders and a stranger.
She was his co-star in "Into The Woods" and the stranger was someone that was with her and they shook hands, then the stranger left and Neil Patrick Harris assumed that he was her boyfriend, so he congratulated her.
"David? Oh no, he's totally gay... Contrary to popular belief, gaydar technology is still imperfect, even among gays... and David isn't swishy," he wrote in the autobiography.
Apparently, his now husband was in another relationship at that time with a publicist and Neil Patrick Harris didn't want to get into trouble so he let it be.
Eventually, David and his boyfriend broke up and then Neil Patrick Harris and him went on a date.
"It's natural. It's familiar. It's as cozy as an old shoe. You've met the right man, and luckily you've done so at the right time," was sweetly added.
After that, things went swimmingly and this year, they got married in Italy, where Sir Elton John performed for them and the marriage was officiated by Pam Fryer, the director of "How I met Your Mother," the Daily Mail noted.
It looks like life couldn't be better at the moment for Neil Patrick Harris and his husband.
