He adds that coffee helps the body absorb and burn fatty acids in the bloodstream. However, this should be accompanied by a healthy lifestyle, not by coffee alone, according to Diane Vizthum, a registered dietitian.

They add that the overly acidic gastric juices can irritate the lining of the gut and cause heartburn. However, Bonnie Taub-Dix, Ma, RD, shares with WebMD. This does not mean you have to say goodbye to coffee. Taub-Dix notes that controlling the consumption will help and prevent heartburn.
The Healthy notes Witherspoon's words saying moderate coffee consumption (about three to five cups) is associated with decreased mortality from all causes, reduced risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes, Parkinson's Diseases, Dementia, certain cancers, and liver cirrhosis. The Healthy also adds that experts have referred to coffee as a miracle drug due to its ability to prevent diseases.
The List emphasizes that drinking filtered coffee every day will not increase LDL cholesterol. However, they point out that if you usually prefer French Press or espresso, that is not the case; in their interview with Rob van Dam, an epidemiologist from Harvard University, saying that unfiltered coffee has cafestol, a substance that increases the cholesterol level in the body.
Eat This Not That references a study published in 2005 suggesting that caffeine increases the level of cortisol, a stress hormone in which it can trigger excess fat storage, which can develop into obesity when it is at high levels.
