Molly Ringwald Cartoon: The Rainbow Brite Reboot Will Be Pretty In Pink! [VIDEO]

It's certainly no coincidence that one of the most famous faces of the 1980s will now be the voice of a major 80s cartoon reboot: Molly Ringwald's cartoon appearance will be part of the new version of Rainbow Brite, where she will be voicing one of the characters - and the trailer's already out!

For those who didn't grow up in the 80s and aren't familiar with the character, the Molly Ringwald cartoon will have the former teen star around a little girl whose concern is making sure that the world stays bright and prismatic.

The Molly Ringwald cartoon revival will also feature former Hannah Montana actress Emily Osment, who will be playing the title character Rainbow Brite. According to The Inquisitr, the series will be a "limited series" event for the video-on-demand network Feeln, which is available online and on Roku, Xbox, and mobile devices like cellphones and tablets. The Molly Ringwald cartoon will be premiering on November 6 for a limited time only.

Back in the day, the premise of the Hallmark-envisioned show was this: a girl named Wisp was brought into a colorless land, and to bring color to it she must find the Sphere of Light, all while keeping up with happy and sweet thoughts that will being color into the lives of everyone in this new world. She must rescue the 7 Color Kids, who live in Rainbow Land and are in charge of all the color in the universe.

For the new trailer, it seems that Rainbow Brite went through a severe makeover, where she has slimmed down from her 80s look - plus, obviously there's been a change in the sort of animation, as the new one looks a bit like the new My Little Pony series.

In any case, 80s fans will delight in seeing Molly Ringwald's newest cartoon - and they can watch the trailer below!
