Being on a diet during the Holiday season is certainly a challenge for many people. Imagine the terror it might cause you when you see that number on your weighing scale go up after weeks of fasting and grinding that exercise routine.
To size down and wear that old pants you bought, portioning your food intake and eating fewer carbohydrates might be your priority to shed that love handles and puffy cheeks.
This might be a normal scenario for an average individual who is determined to have that alluring shape. But have you ever wondered, how a family from the royal palace celebrates their Christmas eve?
When we hear Christmas eve, things like, dinner, turkey, and hot chocolate by the fireplace might be running in our minds. But when we put the 'Royal Family' into account, things get bigger and interesting. Imagine how they eat in an extravagant dinner, and sophisticated way.
But did you know that before they eat, they also weigh themselves?
You might be thinking that they are also concerned about their health and maybe the ladies from the royal family are focused on maintaining their weight and healthy figure.

But hold your thought, because that is wrong. In an interview with Marie Claire, Majesty Magazine's Ingrid Sewards mentions that getting weighed before and after having a meal is a tradition dating back to King Edward VII's reign.
And no, it is not intended for maintaining their weight. Cheat Sheet points out that this tradition is done to make sure the elite family members are having a good time and ensure that the guests and every member of the royal family are fed enough.
But come to think of it, what do you think do they eat during a royal Christmas dinner that will make them gain their weight, and can we afford it?
In the previous year, former chef to Queen Elizabeth II, Diana Princess of Wales, and Princes William and Harry, Darren McGrady shares to The Sun that the elite family's menu includes, salad with shrimp or lobster.
He also adds traditional side dishes such as parsnips, carrots, brussels sprouts, and Christmas pudding with brandy butter for dessert, and of course a roasted turkey.
This coming Christmas, the former chef shares with Hello! What the royal family will be eating during breakfast, lunch, dinner, and afternoon tea. For starters, McGrady mentions that the elite family eats a full cooked breakfast.
For lunch, McGrady mentions in Hello! that they cook traditional turkeys and sides. For Afternoon tea, he furthers that chocolate yule log cake is and a Christmas cake is often served to the royal family for them to enjoy.
For Dinner, McGrady points out that they carve the meat in the evening buffet including foie gras en croute, whole Stilton cheese. How extravagant is that?
The royal family is an epitome of sophistication and is looked up to by many people. Enjoying themselves together is also important, maybe that is why traditions such as weighing before and after a meal are done, to measure how they enjoy the Holidays or Christmas together.
