The holiday season gives us all the excuses to eat, drink, and be merry. Every food establishment all over the country has already launched its seasonal menu items by this time.

However, we may have the freedom to try out these delicious treats, but we must be cautious of the food items we consume. With that in mind, here are several of the unhealthiest holiday menu items that restaurant chains offer.


1. Cinnamon Roll Pancakes (Denny's)

No matter how delicious it looks, nutritionists and dieticians recommend avoiding the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes of Denny's.

This is because one serving contains 127 grams of sugar, which is roughly the equivalent to eating a full cup of sugar. It only has four grams of fiber, 10 grams of protein but an incredibly high amount of calories at 1,030.

2. Peppermint White Hot Chocolate (Starbucks)

One of the popular holiday drinks in Starbucks is the Peppermint White Hot Chocolate. This drink is undeniably delicious, but you need to watch out for how much fat, calorie, and sugar you can get from it.

A grande cup of this already contains 74 grams of sugar and 520 calories. Meanwhile, according to My Food Diary, a venti cup contains 730 calories.

3. Peppermint Bark Cheesecake (Cheesecake Factory)

Talk about high amounts of calories, fat, and sugar in one serving. The Peppermint Bark Cheesecake has it all, plus a single slice contains 1,500 calories. This is equivalent to a day's worth of calories for the average, moderately active person.

4. Peppermint Chip Milkshake (Chick Fil A)

This holiday drink from Chick Fil A is loaded with fat and carbohydrates. In addition, the amount of sugar in these milkshakes is the equivalent of eating ten candy canes.

The small serving contains about 730 calories, while the large serving gets you 950 calories.

5. The Holiday Heat N' Serve Feast (Cracker Barrel)

The Holiday Heat N' Serve Feast includes sugar-coated ham, dressing, gravy, cranberry relish, rolls, and pecan pie, which gets you at least 1,575 calories.

6. Bao Donuts (P.F. Chang's)

Part of P.F. Chang's holiday menu is the Bao Donuts. One serving of this dish contains a substantial amount of 1,400 calories and 68 grams of sugar.

7. Holiday Milkshakes (Shake Shack)

This year, Shake Shack launched their Holiday Milkshakes, which include Christmas Cookie, Chocolate Spice, and Candy Cane Marshmallow. They may be festive drinks, but they also contain between 890 and 1160 calories.

8. Irish Cream Cold Brew (Starbucks)

A venti serving of this drink will get you almost half of your daily limit of saturated fat. In addition, it exceeds the upper limit of daily sugar intake for women.

9. Grandma's Holiday Sampler (Cracker Barrel)

According to Eat This, this menu item offers every type of breakfast food you want to try. While it can satisfy every craving that you have, it also means that you will be consuming 860 calories in one sitting.

10. Holiday Pasta (TGI Friday's) 

With the main ingredients of chicken and broccoli, TGI Friday's Holiday Pasta may seem healthy at first glance. However, the mixed cheeses, Alfredo sauce, and cheese tortellini register the dish with 1,840 calories.
