Lorde’s Tennis Court No Longer Her Latest Hit: The New Zealand Actress Releases Yellow Flicker Beat For The Hunger Games [VIDEO]

Lorde's Tennis Court and Royals have been among the most popular songs in the last couple of years, making the New Zealand singer-songwriter one of the most recognized faces in current music. Following the success of Lorde's Tennis Court, the singer releases her newest single to the world, 'Yellow Flicker Beat' the first part of the soundtrack to upcoming film The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1.

Lorde's Tennis Court had a definite pop sound, though bringing the distinctive voice of the young teen idol - but perhaps the first thing the world heard from the Royals singer isn't all there is to the sound of the now Grammy award-winning performer. According to Headline Planet, Yellow Flicker Beat "erupts into what is arguably Lorde's punchiest, most atmospheric, most dramatic chorus to date," bringing the sound of Lorde's Tennis Court and Royals to a darker twist, perhaps more reminding of Lana Del Rey in its somber sound.

The song is the first single to be released for the upcoming Hunger Games film, which will be the first part of a two-movie finale - following the examples of the last installments of the Harry Potter and Twilight sagas before it. The film will be officially released next month, on November 18, and will bring back stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Philip Seymour Hoffman (who reportedly was able to finish principal photography for his Hunger Games appearance before passing away in February of this year) along with many others. Also, this film will mark the first time Oscar-nominated actress Julianne Moore will appear in the saga, along with Natalie Dormer, who plays Margaery Tyrell in the popular HBO fantasy show Game of Thrones.

Lorde's Tennis Court has nothing on her new single, as she moves into a slightly darker sound for the hit dystopian saga - you can listen to Flicker Beat below!
