Marijuana-infused Soda Bottles Explode: The event happened in a Top Shelf Cannabis store in Bellingham, Washington. Apparently, it happened in random times and all the sodas had to be removed and destroyed.
The manager of Top Shelf Cannabis was at his store when all of a sudden bottles started exploding out of the blue. He even reported and CBS noted, "It sounded like a shotgun going off. You can actually feel it, it was that explosive."
Apparently, around 300 bottles of marijuana-infused soda bottles were delivered on Sept. 28th to Top Shelf Cannabis and the next day, the employees found a mess on the floor that looked sticky and before they knew it, a random explosion took place again.
Zach Henifin, the manager of Top Shelf, had to wear a face guard and protective clothing to get the bottles and take them out to a steel trash bin for the 'random explosions' not to hurt anyone. It happened that by Tuesday, most of the bottles were gone after 'exploding.'
The marijuana-infused sodas had been produced by Mirth Provisions of Longview and its founder, Adam Stites said about the incident, "The yeast was building up the pressure in the bottles over a seven to ten day period." By this, he means that the responsible of the 'explosions' was the yeast in the sodas.
After this incident, apparently Top Shelf Cannabis has to put all the products in quarantine for them to be checked to comply by the Liquid Board Control.
Adding up to this, Adam Stitles sent a driver in approximately nine days after he got the phone call from Zach Henifin reporting that the bottles were indeed exploding and he needed to get them out of there so that no person would get injured in any sort of way by the bottles that at random moments suddenly explode.
After the marijuana-infused soda bottles, Adam Stites simply stated that the unfortunate event was a product of test and error with the drinks that are still in that stage.
