Kids of the 80s and the 90s are rejoicing!
Not only because one of the era's movie classics: Ghostbusters, will be returning to the big screen, but a similar-themed snack will join them inside the cinemas!
In case all the gooey and green stuff you see in the movies are not enough to twist your tummy, maybe this one will but in a good way of course!
ENM Sales and Services, the company who represents Hostess, the manufacturer of your favorite snack, the Twinkies, has teased the public with a tweet saying that a limited edition Twinkie is coming to town.
It's green. It's gooey and slime-y on the inside. It is the newest "Key Lime Slime" flavor of the Twinkies that has a bright, greenish-yellow sponge cake on the outside and a creamy, oozing key lime, green-colored filling on the inside.
Do not let its looks fool you; they say it's delicious enough you will call the Ghostbusters and share the treat with them.
If its color doesn't scream "I'm a star!" enough, you might want to know that these icky-looking treats had a cameo in the film! Dr. Egon Spengler (played by Harold Ramis) used it for the scale to describe some "psychokinetic energy" on the horizon, E! News spills.
The company has yet to announce the release date of the new treat but speculators believe it will be set a few months before the newest Ghostbusters movie hit the theaters mid-year.
The latest Ghostbusters movie stars an all female cast with Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Kristen Wiig, and Melissa McCarthy and was directed by Paul Feig.
The film is set to hit theaters on July 15.
Previous Ghostbusters film, which was shown in 1984 was considered one of the greatest kids (and kids at heart) films of the decade, which starred Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis.
