Oscars 2016 Nominees Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence Enjoy Tasty Treats: Wolfgang Puck’s Oscars Menu Revealed

Wolfgang Puck, whose name is synonymous with great food, is again catering the Oscar's for the 22nd time. 

Let's take a sneak peak of what his menu looks like considering the Hollywood celebrities and pop icons will be there for the 88th Academy Awards on February 28.  Around 1,500 guests are expected at the after-party on Hollywood's biggest night at the Dolby Theatre in HollywoodCalifornia beginning at 5:30 p.m. PST.

Celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck revealed a glimpse of his customized menu for the 88th Academy Awards starting with mouth-watering fresh lobster and Alaskan king crab with a deliciously tempting chicken pot pie with black truffles and macaroni and cheese.  The group assigned for the annual Governors Ball presented what the Hollywood celebrities will be eating at this year's official Oscars after-party. 

"We did this already for 22 years so we know what the people eat and also most of the movie stars and most of Hollywood come to our restaurant so we know what they like so we always make some traditional dishes, some comfort food and some more modern things, " explains the Austrian celebrity chef.

Puck is famous at catering for Hollywood icons like of Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Cate Blanchett, Bryan CranstonJennifer Lawrence, Kate Winslet and Sylvester Stallone, who are, by the way, all among this year's nominees.

Interestingly, Wolfgang Puck shared what the celebrities enjoyed last year at the Oscar's and it included all of these ingredients:

  • 6,000 mini brioche buns
  • Over 11 lbs. of caviar
  • 450 quarts heavy cream
  • 50 lbs. red and striped beets
  • 300 whole jidori chickens
  • 5,000 eggs
  • 3,750 homemade pretzels
  • 30 gallons earl grey ice cream
  • 1,500 assorted mini cookies
  • Over 1 ton of chocolate

Can you imagine how much food the Oscar's make for one night?  That's a lot of meat and poultry you have there!  This year, be sure that there will be more seafood on the table.
