Game Addiction Lead to Man Losing His Wife and Job

A gamer from Russia has lost his wife and career due to Fallout 4 addiction. After playing the role playing video game for three straight weeks, the 28-year-old man lost everything precious to him. As a result, he is now suing the developer Bethesda Game Studios.

The unnamed man gaming enthusiast from Siberia is blaming the developer of Fallout 4 for the tragic things that happened to him after playing the said game. The man is asking for around $7,000 compensation for the emotional distress the game caused him.

The Russian man has revealed that he was fired after skipping work. His wife also chose to leave him. Not only that, he also unveiled that he experienced lack of sleep which caused him health problems.

The incident started after the man saw an ad about Fallout 4. He was enticed and downloaded the game to play it during his past times. Unlike what he planned and expected, he got addicted of the game and even skipped work just to play it. He also chose to play the video game instead of hanging out with his friends.

The man claimed that he never expected for the tragic things to happen to him just because of Fallout 4. He had no idea that the game is very addictive.

"If I knew that this game could have become so addictive, I would have become a lot more wary of it. I would not have bought it, or I would have left it until I was on holiday or until the New Year holidays," the man stated.

The man and his legal consultant decided to push through the case and see what happens next.

Though unusual, this is not actually the first time that a gaming company has been sued for the same complaint. Back in 2010, a Hawaiian man got addicted with the Lineage II video game and sued its developer. Surprisingly, the court sided with the man and the company was asked to pay for the damages.
