Ted Danson's wife Mary Steenburgen is no stranger to the Hollywood scene herself, but she's been on the shadow of her comedy icon husband for a while - meet the woman that has been Ted Danson's wife for almost 20 years!

Ted Danson's wife, fellow actress Mary Steenburgen, has been making films and television since the late 1970s, and before Danson was married to the star of Stanley Kubrick's classic film A Clockwork Orange, British actor Malcolm McDowell. Steenburgen actually won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1980 for Jonathan Demme's Melvin and Howard (the same man later went on to direct 90s classics The Silence of the Lambs and Philadelphia) while still married to McDowell and later on appeared in the third installment of Back to the Future, where she played a schoolteacher that falls in love with Doc Emmet Brown (Christopher Lloyd) as he and Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) stay in the Old West for a while after fixing the DeLorean time machine.

Ted Danson's wife and the Cheers star met in 1993 on the set of their film Pontiac Moon and they married in 1995. They started dating not long after he ended a very public relationship with funny lady Whoopi Goldberg, whom he'd met in the set of the film Made in America (a relationship that led to Danson leaving his second wife, Casey Danson, in one of Hollywood's costliest divorces: it reportedly cost him $30 million); the relationship with Whoopi supposedly ended due to pressure from his parents, and media has reported in the past that the comedic actress still hasn't completely gotten over him and considers Danson "the one that got away."

While the actor has been in different hit shows over the past few years (most notably the comedy Becker and his dramatic turn as the head of the original CSI), Ted Danson's wife has been working in smaller and less successful shows, such as CBS' drama series Joan of Arcadia (which featured current Two and a Half Men star Amber Tamblyn); however, since last summer, Mary Steenburgen has been reported to be in talks to join the cast of Orange is the New Black in its third season.

Ted Danson and wife Mary Steenburgen have been seen happy together ever since they first started going on, and just a few months back they were spotted arm in arm around New York. Great for them!
