Helen Wood is the winner of the Big Brother 2014. She is going to take home a £100,000 prize plus bragging rights, and she deserves them.
Ex-prostitute Helen was closely followed by Ashleigh Coyle who took the second position in the competition. The two women have made history in Big Brother by becoming the first women to make the final two.
During the Friday night's episode, Christopher Hall, Ash Harrison, Chris Fifth and Pav Paul took position three, four, five and six respectively.
The Big Brother 2014 winner, whose victory attracted both awe and shock, led the voting and won at several points during the final day of the show.
According to figures released by the Channel 5, Ashleigh was ahead of Helen at 9.00 am in the morning of the final day. At 8.55 pm, she was still leading with 7,887 votes. However, at 10.03 pm, Helen was ahead with 4,631 votes. Ashleigh beat the third-placed Christopher by 75,818 votes.
Emma Willis, a Big brother presenter, stated that the competition is the most controversial and explosive the "Big brother" has ever aired.
Helen admitted that she was shocked to have won the series. She said that she was still waiting for someone to tell her it was a lie.
Helen was later shown footage of some heated arguments she had been involved in while in 'Big Brother" house. Though she said she felt embarrassed watching her clips, she said she cannot be silent when somebody makes negative remarks about her.
The Big Brother Show reported that their voting system is independent and they were satisfied that the outcome of the competition was an accurate picture of the public's decision.
Responding to the claims that Helen was given preferential treatment, Big Brother, in its statement, said that Helen was treated just like any other participant in the Big Brother House. In addition, Helen did not have a manager, agent or any connection with Richard Desmond.
