‘Walking Dead' Spoilers & Rumors: How Did Zombie Apocalypse Begin?

"The Walking Dead" franchise has gone through six seasons, as well as a prequel season, it still remains unknown exactly how the zombie apocalypse began. Well, a recent interview with a star from "Fear The Walking Dead" might have just revealed how.

According to Cinema Blend, actor Cliff Curtis from "Fear The Walking Dead" recently shared his idea on how the zombie apocalypse started in the first place.

"It's not on the show, but what I think is a really strong possibility is that all of the government laws around immunization of children and how it's illegal to not be immunized, so that you have all of these kids who, for generations, are immunized, but then something goes wrong and you have thousands and thousands and thousands of people, all around the world, buying these immunizations for flu shots or to fight bacteria or disease, and we've basically become over-immune and our immune system takes over and refuses to let the body die. That's my theory," Curtis told Collider.

He added that he's also upset as any other viewer over the mystery of the origin of the zombie apocalypse, which "Walking Dead" writers and producers have continuously kept secret.

"I'm not okay with that. I want to know how all of this happen. I'm like, 'Come on, guys! Give me the information!" Curtis added.
"Fear the Walking Dead" has piqued the interest of many viewers as the prequel provided a timeframe as to when the outbreak began in Season 1, which is something considering the show's creators have kept completely mum on the topic.

According to a Cinema Blend report in August, "Fear the Walking Dead" has shown interest in the idea of toying around with the zombie outbreak mythology aspect of the show. However, while showrunner Dave Erickson expressed that he wanted to finally tell audiences how the zombie apocalypse began, comics writer Robert Kirkman reportedly told him not to do so.

Since the beginning of the "Fear the Walking Dead" could be the only chance at a possible explanation for the origin of the zombie apocalypse, no explanation could be given at all, ever.

Meanwhile, there is no doubt that a "Fear the Walking Dead" Season 2 is in the works. As for "The Walking Dead" Season 6, the second half of the show is set to return at midseason.
