Saturday Night Live has seen many changes over the years, most recently the new addition of former cast member Darrell Hammond (who had the longest tenure as a comedian in the history of the show) as an announcer; but now, it seems like perhaps Kenan Thompson's Steve Harvey impression will soon be a thing of the past in the classic and ongoing comedy show.
Kenan Thompson's Steve Harvey impression has made the comedian a star over his long tenure in the show - the longest for any African American player and the third longest for any comedian in SNL history.
However, according to reports by TMZ, it was said that Kenan Thompson's Steve Harvey impression would see its last days on Saturday Night Live by the end of this season, when he'd supposedly stop his tenure on the show and perhaps even go on to star in his own television show, which according to the report he is currently in talks of.
Later on, a spokesperson for Saturday Night Live denied the rumor and stated that Kenan Thompson's Steve Harvey impression, among many others (including his also-famous turn as Charles Barkley) will be staying on for a while, stating that casting decisions aren't made until the end of the season.
While often criticized in the past for his performances (as has been every cast member of SNL, particularly in the last few years that have seen the show decreasing in popularity even considering major celebrity hosting gigs), Kenan Thompson's Steve Harvey is a longtime favorite for most fans of the show.
Thompson has been a part of Saturday Night Live since 2003, but was no strager to television before that, as he was one of the stars of the hit 90s teen comedy series Kenan & Kel, which was aired by Nickelodeon for four seasons, from 1996 to 2000.
